Connecting Today.
Powering Tomorrow.
The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) works at the heart of Ontario's power system. The IESO delivers key services across the electricity sector including: managing the power system in real-time, planning for the province's future energy needs, enabling conservation and designing a more efficient electricity marketplace to support sector evolution.

Introducing the IESO Renewed Market
The IESO has improved the way electricity is scheduled and priced across the province. These changes ensure we can continue to make the most cost-effective use of our supply every hour of every day as the grid expands to meet growing demand and incorporate new technologies.

The Long-Term 2 RFP is underway
Ontario’s largest competitive procurement for new electricity generation and capacity is now open through the IESO’s second Long-Term Request for Proposals. The IESO is currently seeking energy and capacity from new-build resources, to be hosted in supportive communities across the province, in the first of four procurement windows.
