OEB releases webcast of generator briefing – now available on APPrO’s website

The Ontario Energy Board has begun an extensive effort to raise awareness of modifications it is making to a range of rules and codes in the electricity sector. The changes are largely designed to facilitate the implementation of the Green Energy Act which was passed earlier this year. OEB Chair Howard Wetston gave an update on the Board’s plans at the APPrO conference in Toronto on November 17, 2009, and OEB staff ran a series of webcasts with stakeholder organizations in the power sector in the following weeks. One of the generator-oriented webcasts, focused primarily on APPrO members, took place on December 3. OEB staff explained their initiatives on generator connection requirements, cost responsibility, transmission planning, generator licensing requirements, and other areas.
